Manny Pacquiao Strikes Again!

Manny Pacquiao returned to the ring to score a unanimous decision over  Jessie Vargas to claim the WBO welterweight title in Las Vegas, 6 Nov 2016.

Pacquiao, 37 years of age, Former eight-division world champion had announced earlier his retirement after beating Timothy Bradley. But decided to return back to the ring as boxing is his love and passion in life. He holds a position in the Philippines Senate, but assured the public that entering back in the ring will not affect him being a Senator.

The judges scored the bout 114-113, 118-109 and 118-109 in favor of the veteran Filipino.

Despite giving away 10 years to his opponent, Pacquiao fought with more intensity and energy.

“I feel I could have done more but every round I tried to knock him out,” says Pacquiao during an in-ring interview with Smith. “I feel happy.”

Adds the new WBO welterweight champion: “After this I’m going back to Philippines to go work. But for the next fight, I’ll talk to Bob.”

Smith presses Pacquiao on whether he would rather fight Terrence Crawford or Floyd Mayweather, the two biggest names put out there for his next opponent.

“Whoever the people want me to fight,” he says. “I’m not picking an opponent or choosing anything.”
